New Simulation Education and Research Fellow
We would like to welcome Rafaella Fadel Friedlaender, MD, to our Fellowship program. She is a pediatric critical care medicine physician from Brazil. She joins Drs. Alexander Answine, Daniel Bauza, Benjamin Semakuba, and Nataliya Bilger in our fellowship program.
Education Calendar
The Events calendar has been updated with several courses, conferences, and webinars. Be sure to look at upcoming events including a regional Laerdal SUN meeting, our Simulation Instructor Course, MOCA, Journal club webinars, and major conferences.
New Equipment
A new Olympus EVIS bronchoscopy system with adult and pediatric scopes is now in use in the Skills Room.
Coming Soon – A new preterm neonatal simulator has been ordered thanks to a philanthropic gifts to the NICU. You can see this highly realistic simulator at his web site – http://simcharacters.com/.
IMSH 2019
The Clinical Simulation Center was well represented at the International Meeting on Simulation in Healthcare held in San Antonio, Texas. Center staff and faculty had eight presentations and one poster presented at the meeting.

Staffing Changes
RSTC Administrative Secretary Wendy Giulivo is moving on to anther role outside of our departments. During her time here she made several improvements to our operations, creating more efficient processes. We wish Wendy well in her new role.
