Society for Simulation in Healthcare
Penn State Hershey Clinical Simulation Center was one of the first institutions to be accredited by the Society for Simulation in Healthcare in 2011. The Center is approved in the areas of Assessment, Research, Teaching / Education, and System Integration.
American College of Surgeons
The center is fully accredited by the American College of Surgeons as a Level 1 Comprehensive Education Institute. This 3-year accreditation is the highest level possible, and has been held by the Center since 2007. Dr. Mary Catherine Santos leads the surgical simulation education program as our Director of Surgical Simulation.
American Society of Anesthesiologists
The Center is also accredited by the American Society of Anesthesiologists as an Endorsed Simulation Program, first gaining endorsement in 2009. This status permits the Center to provide Maintenance of Certification in Anesthesia courses for practicing anesthesiologists.
