— A top to bottom review of an established simulation center serving a medical school, nursing school and major medical center. The review examined all aspects of operations including administration and governance, facilities and equipment, curriculum development and integration, faculty development, staffing, and research.
— An assessment and development plan for a major nursing school moving from an undersized and antiquated simulation center to a new state-of-the-art simulation center. The client described the plan as their “blueprint” moving forward with their transition. The review included assessment and recommendations for staffing, scheduling, and job descriptions; policy and procedure development; curriculum and IT integration, simulation-based education and training for staff; instructor training and simulation faculty development; curriculum planning and development; technology (hardware and software) recommendations; quality improvement processes; supply and equipment management; maintenance and preventive maintenance scheduling; reporting metrics; and research program development. The report also made recommendations for development of a standardized patient program, expansion of interprofessional education, accreditation of the center and certification of the staff.
